LOVE

Even though our lives are filled with imperfections, even though we are sinners by nature, even though we mess up, make huge mistakes, can be pretty terrible people- God sent His only son to die for us! To demonstrate how much God loves us, he allowed his only son to come to earth, live amongst sinners, walk in a nation filled with ugliness, to proclaim and share the meaning of love and the purpose of life. 

Let's take a moment and really think about how deep this is!

As I drop the kids off at school, we often talk about how to do a better job showing love. Sometimes we need a little encouragement, sometimes it comes easy. While driving, my kids fuss and fight with each other and it's normally because of the smallest issue- 'you're sitting too close', 'you never let me sit there', 'you're blocking all the air', 'roll up the window' etc. These moments in the car are what usually prompt our "kindness talks".  It's easy to show love and speak lovingly to those who in return do the same but regardless of the occasional struggle, it always feels good to be kind.

I can't help but think about how often we talk about showing love to one another- surprisingly, it's a daily conversation. Do you think Mary had to encourage Jesus to be kind & show love? I feel like that may be a good question to ask when we're in heaven, but at the same time I feel like scripture clarifies this question for us. Romans 5:8 tells us that Christ died for us even though we were ugly sinners. It didn't matter that we have all this evil around us, God loves us regardless.
