I AM WITH YOU

It’s the first month of the new year and naturally our family has decided to make a few changes. One, taking the time to get outside with our kids and be a little more active. My son, specifically, spends most of his free-time playing video games and is obsessed with Roblox. We decided he was going to be a little more physical, workout with dad, take a few walks around the neighborhood- that sort of thing. 

So here we are, walking around our neighborhood- which, by the way, is an absolutely beautiful place to live. There’s people walking their dogs, families playing at the park, neighbors going on runs- it’s a great place to enjoy the outdoors.

We left the house around the time sun was setting for this walk of ours, which is about 2.5 miles. The sun begins to go down and it is now VERY dark outside. As we were walking my son began to get a little frightened and I found myself reminding him ‘It’s ok, I’m with you’ 

Once those words came out of my mouth I immediately was reminded of how many times the Lord has said that to me “I am with you” All of a sudden I completely understand. There’s been moments in my life when I’m stressed, scared, worried, whatever the uncomfortable emotion may be, and I hear God say- I AM WITH YOU. Hearing this has always calmed my spirit and given me the peace I needed.

Now, as the tables have turned and I’m saying this to my son, I am given this understanding of just how much our God loves us. He wants us to be calm, trust in Him, know and understand that there is nothing to EVER fear, because He is always with us.

I may not always be around my kids, to protect them and advise them, but how amazing that God is ALWAYS with us.
