BLESSED

Recently I took my girls to the grocery store to restock our near-empty fridge. I had to continue to remind the girls that we were on a tight budget and not to ask for everything in sight. Sometimes I regret bringing them in the store with me because all I hear is "oh mom these are my favorite". As much as I do not enjoy telling them "not today" I also think it's important for them to understand and learn how to budget their money and live within their means. This is something I have had to teach them through example, and trust me- it is NOT easy.
Living on a budget is only frustrating when we take our eyes off of what's important. I've had to remind myself of how blessed we are SOOOOO many times. We have a family full of love, we have a beautiful roof over our head, our children are clothed with clean laundry, and fed with healthy food- what more could I possible want? A new car? Some bills to be paid off? That cute purse in the window?... SURE! I could want all of that, but instead what I choose to focus on is the blessings I've been given.
God has granted us with so much comfort. He provides, and continues to provides for our every need! He has never left us starving, never left us unclothed, never left us alone! Scripture reminds us to focus on the things we have been blessed with, not the things we wish we had. Scripture reminds us that God is always with us.
The world will try to bring you down, but the grace of GOD, the power of his word, and the strength of his love gives us so much freedom. Although evil may try to creep in, our lives are guarded in Faith. Praise GOD in that! Praise God in knowing we are taken care of, Praise God - we are BLESSED!
Hebrews 13:5 (NIV) Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;never will I forsake you.”
